Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe receives PAA President’s opinion on the nuclear safety of the power plant site

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) has received an opinion from the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) on the Preliminary Site Evaluation Report (WRL) for the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site. This report – the first of its kind in Poland – provides a preliminary assessment of the selected site in terms of nuclear safety and radiation protection and determines whether the site is suitable for a nuclear power facility.

PEJ, Westinghouse and Bechtel Honored with EXIM’s 2026 Energy Dominance Deal of the Year Award

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ), Westinghouse Electric Company and Bechtel received the 2026 Energy Dominance Deal of the Year award from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) on April 30, 2026. Changes in the Management Board of Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe sp. z o.o.

By resolution of 24 April 2026, the Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe sp. z o.o., with its registered office in Gdańsk, appointed Michał Olszewski to the position of Vice-President of the Company’s Management Board, effective 2 June 2026.

PEJ and Westinghouse expand the group of Polish companies in the qualification process for the first nuclear power plant project

Another domestic company has joined the group of firms preparing to participate in the most demanding phase of the project to build Poland’s first nuclear power plant – the nuclear island. It is ZBUD – a manufacturer and supplier of specialized overhead lifting equipment for the industrial and energy sectors.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe applied for a construction license to build a nuclear power plant in Pomerania

On 31 March 2026, Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe submitted an application to the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) for a license to build Poland’s first nuclear power plant, located in Pomerania, in the Choczewo commune. This is a key milestone bringing us closer to the start of construction work and one of the main permits required before construction can begin.

Change in the Management Board of Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe

As of 2 March 2026, the Supervisory Board of Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe dismissed Piotr Piela from the Management Board. Marek Woszczyk continues to head the company.

PEJ signed its first loan agreement with US EXIM

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) signed a loan agreement with the Export Import Bank of the United States (US EXIM). The direct financing agreement is the first ever concluded between the US export credit agency and a Polish entity, marking another important milestone in the financing process for the Lubiatowo-Kopalino nuclear power plant.
