Successful completion of site characterization project mobilization phase

08.07.2014

WorleyParsons, as site characterization contractor for the first Polish NPP build project, has successfully completed the first stage of preparatory works called project mobilization phase. Project mobilization phase has encompassed detailed planning for, among others, quality control, occupational safety, risk management, environmental protection as well as developing detailed nature inventory methodologies and work execution schedules. The next stage of the project, namely field works at potential sites, has therefore begun.

Site characterization works will be performed simultaneously at two potential sites – at the „Choczewo” site (in Choczewo commune) and the „Żarnowiec” site (Gniewino and Krokowa communes). All characterization works are conducted in compliance with the provisions of the Polish law, international standards and best international practices.  According to schedule, environmental studies will take at least one full year, while site characterization as such – at least two.
