The Environmental Scoping Report (ESR) is the first official document to provide a comprehensive overview of main assumptions of the project. The document forms the basis for launching the environmental impact assessement (EIA) procedure, which is a prerequisite for the process of selection of a safe and secure site for the NPP.
The Environmental Scoping Report has been appended to the application for issuing a Decision on Environmental Conditions and for specifying the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report, filed by the Company with the General Director for Environmental Protection.
On the basis of ESR, after obtaining the opinions of the Voivodeship Sanitary Inspector and Maritime Office, and also after international consultations with countries interested in participating in transboundary environmental impact assessment, the General Director for Environmental Protection will issue a decision on the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report indicating, inter alia, the methodology to be followed in future environmental surveys and analyses.
