Marek Woszczyk is an experienced manager, who has been working in the energy industry almost from the beginning of his more than 30-year career. He has been managing key energy entities in Poland for over 18 years.
Between 2016 and 2025, he was the CEO of PGNiG Upstream Norway, responsible for creating and implementing the company’s development strategy. During this time, the company significantly expanded its business portfolio, increasing its interests in key deposits, access to which strengthened Poland’s energy security and independence. As the President of the Management Board of LOTOS Upstream, he was also involved in the consolidation of Norwegian assets of the ORLEN Group.
While working at Deloitte, he provided strategic consulting based on multi-criteria analyses for companies in the energy industry.
Previously, he held the position of President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. He supported both new investments to ensure a stable electricity supply and the implementation of an energy transition strategy focused on renewable energy sources and innovative technologies, among other things. He led to the initiation of the construction of two power units of the Opole Power Plant, which have already been commissioned, and to the construction and commissioning of four onshore wind farms, increasing the total installed capacity of the Group’s wind farms by 70%.
Between 1998 and 2013, he worked at the Energy Regulatory Office (URE), where he held various positions ranging from a Specialist to the President of the Management Board. He exercised regulatory supervision over the national energy market, regulating the activities of energy companies, as well as operational implementation in the electricity, gas, heating and liquid fuels sectors. He was also involved in legislative work strengthening market regulations to protect consumers and increase competitiveness in the energy sector.
He has been involved in Poland’s first nuclear power plant project since 2014, when, as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PGE EJ1, he supervised management activities and provided guidance for the investment process, including site evaluation and obtaining necessary administrative decisions.
He is the author of many publications on the energy industry and financial issues. He graduated from the Gdynia Maritime University, the National School of Public Administration (KSAP) and Executive MBA from Kozminski University.
