PEJ selects a financial advisor

On 16th of December, Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) has selected a consortium of BNP Paribas France and KPMG Advisory as an advisor to support the Company in securing debt financing for Poland’s first nuclear power plant. Funding for the country’s key energy investment project has been also provided by the Polish Government, which plans to allocate over PLN 60 billion by 2030.

Leading French financial entities, Bpifrance Assurance Export and Sfil, have shown interest in the financing of the Pomeranian power plant for an equivalent exceeding PLN 15 billion (bn 3,75 USD).

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) has received a letter of intent (LOI) from Export Development Canada (EDC), for up to US$1.45 billion (equal to nearly PLN 6 billion) to potentially support Poland’s first nuclear power plant project. The LOI is in support of the sale of goods and services by Canadian suppliers. EDC joins the ranks of foreign entities considering to financially support the Lubiatowo-Kopalino power plant project. Earlier such expressions of interest were made by U.S. entities.
PEJ will ensure independent verification of the safety analyses for the first nuclear power plant in Poland

PEJ has signed a contract with the consortium of the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ), Nuclear and Industrial Engineering (N.IN.E.) and NucAdvisor to conduct an independent verification of safety analyses. It is an important step in the process of obtaining the construction license for the Lubiatowo-Kopalino nuclear power plant from the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA).
PEJ: Westinghouse places first orders related to the nuclear power plant in Pomerania with Polish suppliers

Polish suppliers are joining the project to build Poland’s first nuclear power plant at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site. The first purchase orders for the project led by Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) were made by Westinghouse in October this year with previously downselected Polish suppliers, including two companies from Pomerania.

The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (U.S. DFC), America’s development finance institution, is considering support for a project to build the first Polish nuclear power plant with the equivalent of more than PLN 4 billion. This interest was declared in a letter interest signed by the DFC on 12 November.
PEJ concluded the contract for the construction of the technical road to the MOLF

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) signed a contract with Budimex SA for the design of the technical road to the MOLF (Marine Off-Loading Facility) - the facility for marine transportation of nuclear power plant components. The road will be commissioned at the end of 2026, about two years before the scheduled pouring of first nuclear concrete of the Lubiatowo-Kopalino power plant.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) has requested an opinion from the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) on the correctness of the classification of the circulating water system (CWS) as having no impact on the nuclear safety of a power plant based on AP1000 reactors. This is crucial for further timely delivery of work according to the investment schedule.
Jan Chadam ends cooperation with PEJ

As of 30 September 2024 Jan Chadam is stepping down from his role as a commercial proxy for Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ). The decision is motivated by personal reasons. This change does not impact the schedule of PEJ's project to build a nuclear power plant in the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site, currently underway. Mr. Chadam's duties will be taken over by members of the company's management board.
