The commercial market is ready to provide the remaining debt financing for Poland’s first nuclear power plant. As part of the market sounding process aimed at gauging the interest in the project, Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe collected preliminary offers from banks, with their total amount several times greater than the required debt capital.

The European Commission approved state aid for Poland’s first nuclear power plant. The decision was made in record time and, importantly, in accordance with the expectations of the Polish side. The green light from the European Commission opens the path to financing the project. The first nuclear power plant is the largest investment in the Polish energy sector in its entire history.

The event “Nuclear – opportunities and engagement of Polish industry” was addressed at Polish companies interested in joining the domestic supply chain for Poland’s first nuclear power plant project.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe has applied to the Pomeranian Voivode for a permit to carry out the second stage of preparatory works. In addition to the continuation of selected activities from the first stage, for which PEJ obtained a permit on 29 August 2025, the scope of work also includes, among other things, the preparation of technical infrastructure for the NPP construction.

Another Polish company joins the project to build Poland’s first nuclear power plant. Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe has signed a contract with Elektrotim S.A. for the construction of power infrastructure worth more than PLN 160 million. The contract covers the construction of a 110/15kV substation and the necessary electricity supply lines to the site.

ZKS Ferrum S.A. and Mostostal Kielce S.A. joined other companies selected by Westinghouse Electric Company to prepare for the participation in the construction of Poland’s first nuclear power plant in having completed the first stage of the process of aligning their procedures with the quality standards of the global nuclear industry.

The Head of the Pomorskie Voivodship has issued a permit for preparatory works related to the construction of Poland’s first nuclear power plant. The permit covers the first stage of activities and includes the staking out, fencing, removal of vegetation, as well as land development and leveling. Works will begin later this autumn.

FAMAK S.A., followed by Mostostal Kraków S.A. – companies selected by Westinghouse Electric Company to join the nuclear power plant construction in Pomerania – have completed the first phase of the project to adjust their procedures to the nuclear industry’s quality assurance requirements. The requirement to be complied with is the NQA-1 standard, which must be achieved by Polish entrepreneurs in order to join the global supply chain of the U.S. AP1000 technology vendor and to engage in nuclear projects.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe and Pomorska Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna [the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone – transl.] have signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement allows exchange of information and experience between PEJ and PSSE and provides for mutual support in market education and business development activities in the region.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) and Tadeusz Kościuszko University of Technology in Cracow have signed a cooperation agreement to develop personnel and scientific resources for the nuclear industry in Poland.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) officially notified the investment project involving Poland’s first nuclear power plant to the European Commission, in accordance with its obligations under the Euratom Treaty.
